Mozelle Lantana in the Northeast:

I bought one of these lovely flowering plants at a nearby Nursery on Long Island (New York State). I bought it knowing that it might not survive our winter, but I'm wondering, how can I help it to survive (if possible) while still rooted in the ground??? Some people say burlap, but I wouldn't know what to do with it.

Thanks for any / all tips.

Unfortunately, it is just not possible for this plant to survive a winter in zone 6. It is only hardy to zone 10 -- for example Florida. No amount of mulch or burlap would be enough to bring it through. You can try bringing it indoors as a houseplant if you want to try to keep it for next year. I'm sorry I can't be more encouraging.
