I have planted a Honey Suckle in a planter container in my garden and would like to know how I protect it over the winter or do I need to transplant it now before our first frost.

It is difficult to protect the roots of a container plant during the winter months both due to extreme cold as well as to freeze/thaw cycles. I would suggest planting it in the ground if you can, that would be the best. Keep the soil evenly moist until it freezes, and be sure to mulch generously later this fall. Enjoy your honeysuckle shrub!
