What would be the average growth of a coast redwood per year? What would be the proper spacing? Thanks |
Redwood trees reach 70-100' high and about 25' wide at maturity. It is considered a fast-growing tree. Rate of growth refers to the vertical increase in growth unless otherwise specified. Rate, as is true for size, is influenced by numerous variables such as soil, drainage, water, fertility, light, exposure, ad infinitum. The designation slow means the plant grows 12? or less per year; medium refers to 13 to 24? of growth per year; and fast to 25? or greater. You can space these trees on 12' centers and the tops will grow together to form a screen. |
