Interested in the Indian Hawthorne. Can this be planted in Ocala Florida, do the leaves in winter months fall off, can it withstand high winds? Also what is the growth per year and do the roots go down or spread out?
Thank you! Barbara

Barbara,

Sorry for the delayed reply. Indian Hawthorne is an evergreen plant that is usually a shrub. It comes in many sizes from 2 feet tall to the variety Majestic Beauty that can be pruned to a tree form to 20 to 25 feet tall, 8 to 10 feet wide; or as shrub can be kept to 10 to 12 feet tall, 6 to 8 feet wide. The roots spread like other plants but in a sandy soil will go deeper. Growth rate is moderate and depends a lot of growing conditions.
