| Monterey Brush Cherry would need extensive pruning to keep it less than two feet wide so if you plant them you'd need to prune them quite often to keep them from overtaking the area. They can be planted on 4' centers to provide a thick screening hedge. You might also consider Skyrocket Juniper or Thuja pyramidalis for the site. Both these evergreen shrubs have an upright growing habit and would need less pruning than the brush cherry. Or, you might plant a vining plant such as honeysuckle in the area, instead.
