I just received this beautiful tree as a gift. It is 3 feet high and in full leaf. Do I plant it now or wait 'till spring?

It would be better to plant it outside in its permanent place right away. Keep the soil slightly moist until the soil freezes. Use an organic mulch about two to three inches deep spread over the root zone in a flat layer, keep it mulched year round. Plant it in a sheltered location with protection from winter winds; it will do best in soil that is slightly acidic, organic and humusy, evenly moist and yet well drained. Enjoy your tree!
