Our centipede lawn has large brown spots that have developed during the last 2 weeks. The spots seem to spreading. Except for the ares with the spots, the lawn looks green and healthy. It is early November. Is this what's called Brown Spot Disease? If so, how do you treat it? What else could it be and how can I figure out what it is and how to treat it?

Patty,

It is difficult to say which disease or insect is causing that problem without seeing a sample. Your best bet is to take a sample of the lawn are showing the damage along with some photos of the area to your Parish Extension Office and see if they can identify the cause of the damage. They would then be able to recommend an appropriate, labeled insecticide product for you to use.
