Hello, I have planted bamboo in soil in my kitcken. It was doing fine for awhile but now the soil is molding. what should i do? did i do something wrong? Also our plant of ivy in my kitchen has mold on the soil as well. The ivy has done really well for the past several years but now it was dwindled and is dieing. What should i do? Another thing, does bamboo grow better in soil or just water in a vase? |
Mold on the soil indicates overly wet conditions and poor air circulation. You might be able to scrape or peel the mold off the soil. If not, repot your plants in fresh potting soil and try watering them from below, making sure the top of the soil dries out before watering again. Bamboo like to grow in soil rather than in water (except the Lucky Bamboo, which thrives in plain water). Best wishes with your plants! |
