The Q&A Archives: Knotweed, Red Dragon

Question: I would like to know how to take care of this plant...I need to know what to do with it in the fall, winter, spring and summer. It seems to be elusive as far as information goes.

Answer: Suzanne,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. Knotweed is easy to grow and low care. It prefers slightly moist soil but not soggy or very dry. It takes full sun but may be easiest to care for and also color best in a partial shade location. It is hardy in zones 5 through 8.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
