I recently purchased a 12 inch potted Dracaena Mass Cane from Costco and it didn't come with any instructions. How do I take care of it? I don't have a green thumb and don't want it to die.

You've made a wise choice. Dracaena Mass, or Corn Plant, is easy to grow indoors. It needs low to moderate light (6' or less away from an unobstructed window), moderate amounts of moisture (allow the top 2" of soil to dry out before watering), and will adapt to the level of warmth normally experienced indoors. It will benefit from an annual application of fertilizer (to avoid burning the leaves, use a water soluable fertilizer such as Miracle Gro or Peter's). Aside from occasional turning of the pot (to keep the canes from leaning toward the light), and regular applications of water, your corn plant should make a delightful and carefree addition to your home.

Enjoy!
