We planted mums in our garden in October, and the blooms are starting to turn brown. Should we pinch them off or do anything else to prepare them for winter? They are surrounded by pine straw right now.

thanks!

Lauren,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. Blooms are usually pinched off after blooms face for aesthetic reasons. If you have not yet pinched them off you can still do so with no ill effects on the plants.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
