Hello,

I love your plants and have many in my yard. I would like to find a distributor for Ilex Edward J. Stevens to increase berry production on my Nellie Stevens hollies. Do you grow them? If so, how can I get one. If you don't grow them, can you please tell me who does?

Thank you!

My understanding is that any in the ilex cornuta family that blooms at similar times with the Nellie Stevens will work. this includes burfordii (and burfordii dwarf) as readily available.

Monrovia does not grow Edward J. Stevens holly. Your Nellie Stevens is a Chinese holly and can be pollinated by a male Chinese holly, but most female Chinese hollies will produce berries without a male in the neighborhood. If your plant doesn't seem to be producing enough berries, it may just be too young to do so. If you wait a few years, you might be pleasantly surprised at the number of berries it produces.
