I would like to move my Chinese Lilac, which I planted this summer. It has buds for new growth on it right now - is it the wrong time to transplant it? Should I wait until after it's bloomed or can I do it now? I would really like to get it moved before the rains start.

I would transplant it now. It will never go dormant in your warm growing season but it is resting, and it won't suffer as much stress if you transplant it now while the weather is cool. Best wishes with the move!
