We wish to purchase a tree that has a dome type branch & foliage structure that would get 15-20 feet tall at maturity. We would prefer purchasing a more mature tree (at least 15 gallons). Deciduous is our preference. It would be a single placed alone in our front lawn area which gets full afternoon sun. What would you suggest?

You might enjoy one of the smaller deciduous magnolias or a smaller variety of ornamental cherry, possibly in a weeping form. There are many smaller growing varieties of crabapple as well, newer types having better disease resistance than years ago. Another possibility might be a Japanese maple such as "Bloodgood" or a Kousa dogwood (Cornus kousa). You might like a redbud or an Amelanchier of some sort, or maybe a Pagoda dogwood (Cornus alternifolia). You might want to look at these different trees to see if any appeal to you and consult with local nursery staff as well as possibly your county extension for additional suggestions based on your specific location and soil.
