The Q&A Archives: Red Rhapsody Maple in SF Bay Area?

Question: I live in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area where the summers can reach into the 90's. I'd like to plant a Red Rhapsody Amur Maple in an area that gets full sun, southern exposure.

My landscape designer hasn't seen the tree in this area, and is concerned about the heat. Should we be concerned?
Thank you.

Answer: Amur maple grows well in the San Francisco Bay area. You can expect brilliant autumn color from this tree. Enjoy!
