You're located on the northern edge of its growing zone, and it'll require winter protection. Because you'll need to cover it for the winter, you're better off choosing a smaller variety, such as 'Centennial' or 'Victor' (3-5' tall at maturity). Carroll Gardens (444 East Main St., Westminster, MD 21157; ph# 800/638-6334) offers these "unusually hardy" varieties. They can also tell you what kind of winter protection works best. Good luck!
