The Q&A Archives: Trying Again - Camelia in Texas

Question: I am resubmitting this question as I have not received a response. Perhaps my span settings deleted your origional reply.

I live in the DFW area in zone 7b. I have an area which receives afternoon sun, which may be a problem in Texas. I would like to plant a camelia to help cover a tall fence to the east of the area. I would prefer an evergreen for this purpose and love the camelia. Can you suggest a cameilia which can survive partial to full sun, Texas heat, winters in zone 7b and large flowers? Does this even exist?

Thank You
