Pat,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

The best time to plant any shrub or tree is from fall through spring. The stresses on the new plant are less giving them a chance to get started extending their roots before the heat of summer arrives. I suggest you move the mulberry as soon as possible.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening year in 2007. Please stop in again soon!
