The Q&A Archives: PRUNING

Question: What month do I prune my trees; flowering plum, birch and a few evergreens.

Answer: There's really not a particular month for pruning - it depends upon the tree. For instance, you'll want to wait until after your flowering plum has finished flowering before pruning, which could push the pruning date into late spring, depending upon the weather; your birch and most evergreens can be pruned in early spring, just as new growth begins. Best wishes with your landscape!
