I have a 2 ft. wide planter that is bordered by a 6ft. wall on one side and a concrete driveway with a short curb on the other side. The planter also contains wiring for cable and probably phones. The current trees planted are California peppers. They are about 2yrs old. I would like to remove them before they do any damage. Would Agonis f.

Agonis ?After Dark? loves to be grown in well-drained soils (which your raised planter should provide) but also needs plenty of water. They will grow best in full sun. They can be pruned back hard which will encourage the colorful juvenile growth. For good color, use a fertilizer high in phosphorous. I think it's a good choice for the site you describe.

Best wishes with your new plants!
