Hi, I'm looking for the fastest growing trees you have. My client is in Oakland, CA. She needs big trees for screens. On set is to shade the house from full southern exposure, and would be planted within 6'of the house. Those trees need to grow at least 30' tall and do well in clay soil and it's alright if they're decid. The other screen of trees could easily get to be 65' tall and need to be evergreen. There's no power lines to worry about but I'm hoping for trees that have little litter. My client is an amazingly active 75 year old, but I need to trees to grow fast so she can see some results sooner rather than later. I was thinking some flowering cherry or plums for one set and maybe Arbutus 'Marina' or Pistache chinensis for the evergreen. However whichever trees you have that grow the fastest will be the winners! Thank you for your help with this.

Sincerely,
Kahli Waters

note: I usually buy your plants through a wholesaler in San Ramon and I think a 24

Leyland cypress is a popular tree for screening and privacy plantings. You might also consider "Witchita Blue" or "Skyrocket" junipers. These are reasonably fast growing, upright plants. Or, American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) is a tall, columnar evergreen that's a natural for planting in rows for quick screening. Hope one of these suggestions works for your client!
