I am in zone 6. It is Jan. 11th. Should I plant boxwood green velvet and english hollies? Assuming I do, how often should they be watered?

You can plant landscape trees and shrubs any time the ground is not frozen. Now would be a good time. Water your shrubs well after planting and then water deeply once each week to help the roots become established. I find it easiest to build a watering basin beneath each plant as soon as they are planted. Fill the basin with water, allow to drain, then fill it a second time. Watering in this way will concentrate the moisture over the root mass and allow it to trickle down and wet the entire root mass.

Best wishes with your new plants!
