The clover that I have been battling in my St. Augustine grass has now invaded the jasmine ground cover around my oak trees. Is there anything that I can use to get rid of the clover without harming the jasmine, the grass or the trees? I live in Houston, Texas--Zone 9. Thanks. Molly |
Molly, I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. Unfortunately hand pulling is the best bet as products that will broadleaf weeds like clover also can damage broadleaf ornamentals like jasmine and trees. You may find that a preemergence weed control product applied in mid September in your area is a option. These products prevent winter weeds like clover from germinating if applied before they sprout and begin to grow. Your Home Depot garden center manager can assist you with finding such a product. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening year in 2007. Please stop in again soon! |
