The Q&A Archives: Pruning Gardenia

Question: I was wondering if it was ok to prune my gardenia in winter months? I live in MS. so it does not get below freezing for very long.

Answer: Pruning encourages new growth so wait until you're sure there will be no late frosts before pruning your gardenia. I'd wait until the end of February just to make sure the weather won't throw a late frost at you!

Enjoy your garden!
