I have just planted golden mops and nandina and have a dog(lab)who has dug them just about all up. what can I do to keep him out of the flower beds? |
Dog, especially young ones, find the smell of freshly dug earth irresistable. They'll dig and dig as long as they're able. If you spread weed barrier down after replanting your plants, and cover the weed barrier with decorative rock or gravel, you'll be able to control the digging. Or, lay chicken wire down and plant groundcover in the area. The wire will keep the dog from digging and the groundcover will eventually hide the wire. Best wishes with your landscape! |
