The Q&A Archives: indoor tropical plants

Question: What are good indoor tropical plants?

Answer: There are hundreds of plants suitable for growing indoors and your choices are only limited by the amount of light the site has. Flowering plants such as citrus and hibiscus will need bright light or some direct sunlight; foliage plants can grow in bright to low-light, depending upon the plant. Here are some suggestions for low light conditions: Wandering Jew and Philodendron, are decent choices, as are Spider Plant, Sanseveria, Swedish Ivy, Pothos, Parlor Palm, Dieffenbachia, Chinese Evergreen, Cast Iron Plant (Aspidistra elatior), and Arrowhead Plant (Syngonium podophyllum).
