A relative gave me some gladiolus bulbs this past fall. Life happening, I never got around to planting them. When would be the best time to plant these? And how far apart, and how deep do they need to be in the ground?

I'd take a chance and plant the glads. Depending upon how they were stored, they may be just fine and reward you with lots of summer blooms. Plant gladiolus bulbs 4 inches deep in heavy soil; 5 to 6 inches deep in light, sandy soil. For use as cut flowers, you can plant as close as eight inches apart in a row, with rows 18 to 24 inches apart. Plant in full sun for best flowering.
