New upright Verbena planted flattens during rain storm - is this normal? |
Susan, I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. It is normal for any verbena growing in a very upright manner. In lower light conditions this upright growth is normal as the plants stretch in search of full sun. The flattening is not normally a problem and the verbena should resume normal growth after the rain. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening year in 2007.
