I have a Phoenix Roebelenii with a four foot trunk that I would like to transplant from the ground to a container. What size root ball would this require? |
Determining the size of a rootball is difficult; growth depends upon the soil type and the care you've given the tree. I would suspect the roots extend down about 12" and out away from the trunk about 12". Begin your digging at that point. If the roots are as suspected, you'll want at least a 5-gallon container in which to transplant your palm tree. Best wishes with the dig! |
