My birds of paradise plants turned brown and crunchy due to cold temperatures and frost. What should I do to try and save them? Should I cut them down?

Now's a good time to prune off all the crispy brown leaves and stems. If the roots were unaffected by the cold snap they should begin to produce healthy new shoots and leaves.

Best wishes with your landscape!
