This is an interesting question. I am so sorry they are causing you such trouble. The nightcrawlers indicate a healthy soil and also help aerate the soil to improve the health of your turf grass. So getting rid of them is not really recommended. To minimize the appearance of the bumps, you could work on growing a thick, healthy lawn by following good lawn management practices. You can also try core aeration to help level it, along with light rolling (do not use a heavy roller as this will have an adverse impact on the grass.) Here is additional information on the night crawler problem and remedial steps you can take from the University of Nebraska.

I hope this helps.
