Coconut lined baskets are great for plants that require fast drainage, but they can be difficult to keep moist for plants that thrive in moist soils. You can plant anything from annuals to perennials in them. I'd suggest planting shade-loving plants so you can set or hang the baskets in a shaded area. This will help keep the plant roots cool and will slow water evaporation from direct sunshine.

Why not plant vining or hanging plants such as impatiens, lamium, trailing begonia, asparagus fern, creeping jenny, or abutilon (flowering maple).
