Possibly having a bench where my mother and others could sit to be near while thinking of him. I picked up a CD at Home Depot last summer, but wasn't able to look at it till now. | I am sorry for your loss. What a lovely idea. Unfortunately I am unable to help you work the CD. For help with the CD, please contact the manufacturer and/or your local Home Depot store. For designing the garden, here are a few general thoughts. A seating area is most comfortable if it is in the shade at the hottest part of the day. People feel more secure if their seat either has a back on it or if the bench is placed against a hedge or fence. A walkway or path leading to a bench can help provide structure and frame the area and separate it from the general landscape. You may want to provide a focal point to view from the bench. This could be a lovely tree across the lawn, a birdbath closer to the bench or a flower bed, perhaps an island bed. You may want to use a theme to guide your plant selection. When you select plants, make sure they will not outgrow the space when they mature. Also check that they are suited to the growing conditions where you are planting such as winter hardiness, shade or sun conditions, wind exposure, soil conditions. Sketch out the area to scale so you can check that everything will fit. I hope this helps give you some ideas! |
