Does it do any good to pull dandelions by hand? We have already spread seed and fertilizer on an existing lawn, but have dandelions. What's the best way to get rid of them now?

It is difficult to pull dandelions effectively by hand because you must remove the entire root or it will grow back again. You may have better success by digging them out than by pulling. Alternatively you could spot treat them with an herbicide containing glyphosate applied by wiping it on. (Glyphosate is nonselective and would kill desirable plants it contacts.) Also, a healthy lawn will have a better chance of crowding out the dandelions over time.
