The Q&A Archives: flowers for front porch

Question: My front porch is great for hanging flower baskets, but doesn't get a whole lot of direct sunlight. We do live in South Carolina so I will need something that can stand the heat. What kind of flowers should I be looking to purchase for baskets?

Answer: Some of the best plants for shade include fuchsia, impatiens, coleus and caladium. You can interplant with trailing annuals such as alyssum and sweetpeas. Best wishes with your hanging baskets!
