Some cool season vegetable seeds can be planted outdoors before the last frost such as peas, spinach, or broccoli. Some must be planted later when the soil has warmed up, including melons and squash. (Tomatoes and peppers are usually set out as transplants and go in a week or two after the last frost.) Many vegetables can be planted around the last frost date. Check the individual seed packets for more detailed directions.
