What is the life span of a cherry tree? I have a tart cherry tree (not sure which kind) and it just seems to have died last summer.

Ornamental cherries seem to live about 30 to 40 years and bearing cherries about half that in an orchard situation. Cherries are notorious for being short lived, they are subject to many pests and diseases that can weaken them and shorten their lifespan. You may also find that cumulative stress such as several dry years in a row can cause a tree to die several years after the drought. I'm sorry about your tree.
