These are difficult to control. If you find a seedling, it can be dug out (wear gloves.) If you have larger plants, you can try to dig them out but they are deep rooted so it is difficult. You could use an herbicide containing glyphosate. Look for the formulation for "brush" and read and follow the label directions. The best time to apply it is in late summer to early fall when the plants are naturally drawing resources to their roots in preparation for going dormant for winter. Good luck!
