Hi,
We recently purchased 3 Dwarf Alberta Spruce shrubs that are ~ 6'tall. We plan on using them as a privace fence but were told that they do not
withstand a lot of wind. We are planting them in a Southern exposure to the east of our patio. We do have large spruce trees on the west so direct wind should not be a major problem.

Please respond.

Thanks,

Tim O.

It sounds to me as though the planting site is somewhat protected so I wouldn't worry too much about your new spruce's. They wouldn't be happy in an exposed site, say on top of a hill, where there is nothing to block the wind. But planting them near your home should provide enough protection for them to thrive. Best wishes with your landscape!
