spanish moss on trees - Knowledgebase Question

We have a tree that has begun to have moss hanging off of it, is this harmful. If it is how do I get rid of it.

Cindy,

No it isn't harmful. Spanish moss is just attached to the tree and is not a parasite of it. Most folks leave it as an added aesthetic feature, but if you wish you can pull it out of any areas of the tree that can be reached with a ladder.
