I put in alpina ginger plants last fall. The winter freeze damaged to leaves and the majority of them appear dead. How do I salvage the plants? Do I cut them back? If so how long before they will come back?

Joy,

They should be hardy in your area and therefore should come back fine from the soil when the weather warms in mid spring. In the meantime cut the dead top growth back to a few inches of the soil.
