The Q&A Archives: Why Wait Until August to divide?

Question: If my Iris's have not bloomed on 3 years. Why do I have to wait until August to divide and transplant? Will it hurt them to do this in March/April?

Answer: I agree with you. If your irises have not bloomed for 3 years, they're either in the wrong garden spot or they are overcrowded and in need of dividing. I'd go ahead and dig them now.

Best wishes with your garden!
