| We are just about to be given the go ahead by St Johns Water management to tidy up our frontage onto wetlands. Because we have to do this by hand they suggested we use a weed/plant killer spray first then pulled it out. However this killer must kill the plants, but be non-toxic to fish and reptiles which co-exist with us. The three plants we are allowed to remove are Lantana, which is extensively mixed up with blackberry and wax myrtle. Can you suggest an appropriate chemical which will efficiently do the job and not harm our environment. Many thanks, Lisa. |
| Lisa, There is a form of glyphosate (the ingredient in Roundup) that is labeled for use around water and for plants sticking above the water. The product is called Rodeo and you should be able to find it at an ag supply house in your area. Roundup works fine too but is not labeled for use that close to water. Thanks for the question.
