We bought the Mexian Fan Palm - Washingtonia Robusta at your Pensacola store and have a question about planting depth. The tree is about 12 - 14 feet tall so it was quite a challenge to plant. Where should the top of the rootball be? Is it OK for several inches of sand/soil/gravel to be on top? OR should it be above ground? Thanks, Lisa |
Lisa, The tree should be set at the level it is growing in the container or slightly higher. Several inches of gravel will not likely be a problem but try to minimize such covering of the root ball or piling soil against the trunk. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
