We bought the Mexian Fan Palm - Washingtonia Robusta at your Pensacola store and have a question about planting depth. The tree is about 12 - 14 feet tall so it was quite a challenge to plant. Where should the top of the rootball be? Is it OK for several inches of sand/soil/gravel to be on top? OR should it be above ground? Thanks, Lisa

Lisa,

The tree should be set at the level it is growing in the container or slightly higher. Several inches of gravel will not likely be a problem but try to minimize such covering of the root ball or piling soil against the trunk.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
