The Q&A Archives: climbing fig

Question: Is there any way to get a climbing fig to grow and come back in my zone. I purchased one two years ago in South Carolina but it never made it through the winter. I love the small leaves and the fact that it doesn't do any damage as it climbs. I live in Delaware.

Answer: Sadly, climbing fig is only rated hardy to about 30F. Even at this, some dieback will occur. I'm afraid it isn't a good choice for your Delaware garden. Wish I had better news for you!
