During a Thunderstorm, here in the Dallas area, my Lemon Tree broke and is now only about a foot tall. Will the broken portion re-root if placed in water? Also, will the plant grow a new shoot or will it just die since the majority has broken off? I am just sick, the portion that broke off had all the blooms and now I have none.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Linda Webb

Linda,

The broken part won't reroot. The part trunk portion above the graft should resprout. Remove shoots from below the bud or graft union which is about near the ground level and leave any shoots from above the graft. Select one to be the new trunk and then remove the others. In about a year you should be back in bloom again.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
