Summer grazers type grasses such as Sudex are a good choice. In winter Cereal Rye (or ryegrass as a second choice) is a good option. Also during the summer a cover patch of blackeye peas will help add nitrogen to the soil. Covering the area with a thick mulch of leaves is yet another good option for a fallow period.
