Grass length at end of season - Knowledgebase Question

I asked a question yesterday and got a quick response, thank-you. As a follow-up to that question, should I leave my grass short or long at the end of the season? I have always left it long (3

I think it's difficult to judge just when the grass is going to stop growing at the end of the season and I also think it's difficult to know just when the ground will be too wet for mowing. I'd play it by ear. Long grass will act as a protective cover over the soil (a little like mulch). When grass grow slows and the weather gets cold, I'd put away the mower.
