The Q&A Archives: Transplanting Hasta

Question: Is the timing okay to transplant Hasta in West Tennessee?

Answer: You can divide and transplant hosta now, yes. Be sure to replant it immediately at the same depth it grew before and water the soil after replanting to settle any air pockets. Then water as needed this summer to keep the soil evenly moist while it re-establishes. Also, use an organic mulch two to three inches thick to help keep the soil moist. Enjoy your hostas!
