The Q&A Archives: Peach Trees

Question: I have 2 peach trees that do bear fruit but before fruit ripens, the leaves fall off.
The leave also develope blothces on them.

Answer: Based on your description it sounds as though there is a disease problem, possibly peach leaf curl. That disease is sprayed for in either the fall after the leaves drop or in the spring before the buds swell for the season. I would suggest you work with your local Cornell county extension to get a definite identification of the problem and then based on knowing that, determine how to treat it. They will be able to tell what would work best and the correct time to apply it. Good luck with your peaches this year!
